Defragment Your Hard Drive

One of the computer care tips that I bring today is defragging your hard drive. How to degragment the hard drive? You could see the defragment fuction in the accessories part, and go to system tools and you will see Disk Defragmenter. You must defragmenting your hard drive one by one. Some of friends did ask me why should we defgragment our hard drive? Since most of them are not a computer literate people, so just think what the best words to use in order to make them understand very well on my explanations.

Just imagine you do have a large home library of books arranged in volumes. Also imagine that you will re-shelves the books in a way which moves the individual books in the volumes further apart from each other. If you do buy the new books that's mean books are added to library, the further apart and more mixed up the books in the volumes become. Now imagine that you come to the library and want to check out an entire volume of books. You would have to search all over the library to find each individual book in the volume that you want. Well, it sort of all your cooking books, drawing books are mixed up with your kid's comic and their drawing color books. In computer terms, what is happening when the individual books are re-shelved in this way is called fragmenting, and this is what happens to your computer as you install programs, download files, or just use your computer in general.

When running programs that contains hundreds of files, fragmenting can degrade the performance of your computer. As the clusters of files on your hard drive become fragmented, they grow further apart and it takes longer for your computer to find and assemble all the pieces necessary to run the programs. This is where defragmenting comes in. It rearranges the files on your hard drive so they are back in order, which cuts down on access latency (the time it takes to access your files). It just like you do the re- shelve the books in your home library and make them into one specific topic to make it more easy to find. This could greatly reduce the time it takes to find whole volumes or individual books in those volumes.

I think you do understand very well right why should we defragment our hard drive?? :) But I do have one more tip when you are doing the degfragment processes.

Close all programs when you are defragmenting the hard drive. Why?? As a good analogy for this case is, when you are re-shelving the books, the kids come and take the books. Thus, you can't arrange the books on the right shelve and your kids will put the books in any shelve that they wish to!

I hope this article is good for very body and help you guys out there!!

Stop the virus manually : Alternative to system restore

Well, sometimes, we can't do the restore system or still get blur with it. i did publish this tutorial in my other blog. I did this tutorial cuz one of my friend faced the restore system failure and she didn't know whether the virus been stopped or instead.

there are some cases that will be turn ugly like this. But, don't be panic...I try my best to give u the better solution for the virus problem. Just follow my step by step tutorial

these are the step by step tutorial:

1st thing to do: the listing of virus
since you know who they are (jeefo, brontok and etc), that's really good!! list all the names for the virus

what you have to do are:

1. open the system configuration again
2. check the virus list that been jut down
3. you can know whether they are active or not by :
- select the service tab button
-check all the service list
-you can see the "brontok" and the gang in the list
-go to 'brontok' and check the status
-if the 'brontok' still active they status will appear as 'active'
-you can stop all the virus here....
4. After you stop all the viruses...You must

-go to run tab and type 'regedit'
-you will be redirected to the page
-press Ctrl+F buttons (it's for searching function)
-the FIND box will appear and type the virus name
**(you can not put all the names once, you have to do it one by one)
the system will search the virus and will do a list for the result
the list will go like this
Name Type Data
brontok
-right click on the brontok and slect delete

** you must do it for all the listing..after you handle all the brontok move to jeefo and the rest..

after you finish all the delete stuff, close the registery editor, open the run tab again and be in the regedit page again..perform the searching again on the virus

**we want to make sure all the virus been deleted.

After you finish these steps restart your pc, and don't forget to install the antivirus to your computer!

Tutorial : Stop the computer virus manually

When the viruses attack our machine they could be vanish by cleaning them with our antivirus. But, they could be very nasty when they couldn't be cleaned, detected or even shut down our antivirus system. That's really nasty, huh??

Normally, if we are in that stage we will format our computer, right? But if we do so we have to re install the tons of software.mm...I'm so lazy to do so...So I give u a tutorial step by step how to remove those viruses from your machine.

Tutorial:

1. click at your Start button
2. click to your run "command prompt"

can you access your "registry editor" page?
if you can access it you can install the AVG, but if you can't do it, that's mean you will not success to install the AVG in your computer.
*****the virus could block your antivirus software************

there are 2 alternative way how you are going to evercome your problem:
1. can you find the name of the virus that attacked you? if you know that's really cool. if you know please follow these steps:

i. open your "run" command prompt
ii. type "msconfig" --click ok
iii. you'll be redirected to "system configuration utility"
iv. choose "services" button that appears on the top of the box
v. you can see the list of aplications that are running currently in your
machine
vi. choose the virus name "tick the option box"
vii. click at "disable all" and click "OK" button then

well, at this phase you are succeed to stop the virus.....

2. if you don't know what the name of the virus is, but you know when you get the virus (date).try these steps:

ii. choose "All Programs"
iii. go to "Accecories" choose "system tools"
iv. choose "system restore"
v. choose the "restore my computer to an earlier time" click "next"
vi. you'll be in the "select a restore point" page
vii. look at the calender " choose the any date that be in bold"
** make sure the chosen date is thedate that you still not effect with any virus
-- click "next" to confirm your restore
--click "next" again to the next page (your pc/notebook will be re start

What is Computer Virus

Hi all, since I'm doing this blog for all kind of audiences, (newbie, school kids, armature or even the pro) so I think nothing wrong to make a posting on "what is computer virus?" Although this issue is not a hard issue on us but for some very newbie it's pretty important for their computer care. So I hope the armature and the pro won't be blown up by this posting. ha ha ha.

This is the precise description and hope it will help the real newbie out there.

A Computer Virus is a computer program which distributes copies of itself, even without permission or knowledge of the user. A computer virus is often simply called a virus if it is clear from the context that it does not refer to a biological virus. The term is commonly used to refer to a range of malware, but a true virus does not need to be harmful. To distribute itself, a virus needs to be executed or interpreted. Viruses often hide themselves inside other programs to be executed.

The term comes from the term virus in biology. A computer virus reproduces by making, possibly evolved, copies of itself in the computer's memory, storage, or over a network. This is similar to the way a biological virus works.

Computer virus could spread in such rapid from file to file or even partition. one of the example is Brontok.
